This is a sequel to:
THE IMAGE of two trigrams: Heaven above, a Lake below. The heaven mirrors the water of the lake. The lake mirrors the blue of the sky.
In the mirror, the old man sees young eyes. The child's eyes betray an old soul.
Within a family context, Heaven is represented by the father and the Lake by the youngest daughter. On the road together, the father's thoughtful long strides and, alongside them, the little girl's cheerful hopping.
The music of his youth is forgotten today, but may become a hype again tomorrow, a sensation. The music in her ears sounds crackling fresh and has never been heard before. Or has it?
Let me hear what you listen to. Then I'll let you hear what sounds like music to my ears. Letโs take turns. Like a walking tour where we alternate chose directions. One step at a time.
I take the first step, with the left foot.
This man played guitar in a band. It was called The Band. He has aged, but his music sounds fresh. Nice?
You, the second, with the right.
Bruno Mars is super famous. And here he is singing with a K-pop singer. I think both of them are good drummers. At least, it looks impressive what they do.
The third step is mine again, with the left.
Jon Batiste was for a time the bandleader on Stephen Colbert's show. Remember? Stephen Colbert was an extra in Lake Town in The Hobbit film.
The fourth step for you, with the right foot.
These are the Stray Kids, guys from Korea, super famous. They are coming to perform in Amsterdam this summer. I hope we can go there. Tickets are expensive, though. :-(
I take the fifth step, with the left.
A kora is a kind of lute, no, a kind of harp, or more like an upright guitar. These three men don't make music, they simply are music.
And finally, you, the sixth step, with the right.
You know? Doesn't seem easy to play just by yourself in front of so many people. And he doesn't seem nervous at all.
To be continued soon ...
